Discipline 03
AHU-wise ducting, supply and return balancing, pressure cascades and area classification.
AHU-wise ducting, supply and return balancing, pressure cascades and area classification that hold cleanliness grades reliably and economically.
HVAC & contamination control
HVAC holds cleanliness grades, temperature, humidity and pressure, and it is the largest energy load in the plant. We design it to be compliant, stable and economical to run.
| Grade | Typical use | Design approach |
|---|---|---|
| Grade A | Critical zone where sterile product is exposed | Unidirectional airflow (UDAF) over the open product, within a Grade B room |
| Grade B | Background to Grade A, e.g. aseptic filling room | High air-change rates, terminal HEPA filtration, strict gowning |
| Grade C | Less critical sterile steps, e.g. solution prep | Turbulent flow with HEPA supply, positive to Grade D |
| Grade D | Clean support areas and less critical stages | Filtered supply, controlled temperature and humidity |
ISO 14644 and EU GMP Annex 1 grades set early and confirmed in basic design.
Each system serves a coherent group of rooms, simplifying balancing and qualification.
Differential pressure, temperature and humidity tied into the BMS from day one.

A pharmaceutical facility only works when every system works together. We design each discipline in-house and coordinate them as one, so the facility performs as a whole, not as a set of parts.
From the first concept sketch to an issued-for-construction package, Agon designs pharmaceutical facilities that meet the highest international standards. We would welcome the conversation.
