Where the medicine is made

Liquids & semi-solids

Preparation, filling and packing areas with clean utilities, vessel and transfer-line layouts, and cleaning-in-place considered from the first layout.

Pharmaceutical manufacturing

What we design

  • Manufacturing vessels with CIP/SIP
  • Purified water loops & distribution
  • Product transfer & filling layouts

Liquids and semi-solids live or die on cleaning. Vessels, transfer lines and filling heads all hold product, so the design has to make every surface reachable and drainable, size the purified water loop for the real demand, and give the operators room to break down and reassemble a line between batches.

Typical zones

AreaDesigned for
CompoundingVessels, mixers and the headroom needed to clean and maintain them
TransferRouted to fall, with dead legs designed out and sampling points reachable
FillingClassified to the product and whether the container is open
Washing & CIPParts washing and the CIP skid, kept clear of the clean route
Packing & storageComfort-conditioned, with bulk holding close to filling

Decisions we settle early

  1. CIP and SIP scope

What is cleaned in place and what is dismantled decides the pipework, slopes and plant room layout.

  2. Purified water demand

Peak draw-off, loop length and velocity, sized against the real batch programme.

  3. Transfer method

Gravity, pump or pressure transfer, which sets floor levels, vessel heights and the structure around them.

Let’s design it right.

From the first concept sketch to an issued-for-construction package, Agon designs pharmaceutical facilities that meet the highest international standards. We would welcome the conversation.
