Where products are tested and stored

QC & microbiology labs

Laboratory layouts, fume and containment requirements, clean and black utilities, and room data sheets for analytical and microbiological testing.

Quality control & supply chain

What we design

  • Lab zoning & segregation
  • Sample flow & stability chambers
  • Microbiology suites with controlled air

A QC block has to keep work apart. Microbiology cannot share air or traffic with chemistry, samples must reach the bench without crossing finished product, and stability chambers need power and cooling they will not lose. The laboratory floors are designed as their own environment, with their own services.

Typical zones

AreaDesigned for
Microbiology suiteControlled air, stepped entry and its own route in and out
Media preparation & sterilizationAutoclaves loaded and unloaded from separate sides
Chemical & instrumentationFume extraction, bench services and vibration-sensitive positions
Sample receipt & storageA sample route that never crosses released product
Stability chambersHeat rejection, standby power and monitoring designed in

Decisions we settle early

  1. Micro and chemistry segregation

How far the two are separated, which sets the air systems and the plan.

  2. Sterility testing approach

Isolator or classified suite, decided before the laboratory layout is fixed.

  3. Containment and exhaust

Fume cupboards, safety cabinets and where their discharge goes on the roof.

Let’s design it right.

From the first concept sketch to an issued-for-construction package, Agon designs pharmaceutical facilities that meet the highest international standards. We would welcome the conversation.
