Where the medicine is made

Oral solid dosage

Facilities for granulation, compression, coating and packing, with segregated flows, dust and cross-contamination control, and HVAC zoning matched to each process room.

Pharmaceutical manufacturing

What we design

  • Dust containment & pressure regimes
  • Dispensing-to-packing material flow
  • Cross-contamination control for multi-product

An OSD plant is a dust problem solved with air and layout. Every step from dispensing to packing generates powder, so rooms are zoned by what they release, pressure regimes are set to contain rather than simply to clean, and the material route runs one way through the building so nothing crosses back.

Typical zones

AreaDesigned for
DispensingContained weighing under captured airflow, negative to the corridor
Granulation & dryingWet and dry steps with dust extraction and washable finishes
Compression & coatingRoom-by-room pressure regimes sized to the dust each step releases
Blending & IPCIntermediate storage and in-process control close to the line
Packing & warehouseComfort-conditioned, separated from the open-product rooms

Decisions we settle early

  1. Single or multi-product

Whether the plant runs one product family or several decides the segregation and cleaning strategy.

  2. Containment level

The potency of what you handle sets the containment approach and the pressure regime in every room.

  3. One-way material flow

The dispensing-to-packing route, fixed early, so clean and dirty paths never cross.

Let’s design it right.

From the first concept sketch to an issued-for-construction package, Agon designs pharmaceutical facilities that meet the highest international standards. We would welcome the conversation.
